Vojvodina Wine Tour
Day 1 Morning departure from Belgrade and drive to Vrsac – East of Vojvodina. Visit to the Vrsac fortification from where spreads magnificent panorama of the fertile plain terrain rich in vineyards. Cordial welcome at the famous Vrsac Winery and introduction into technology and tradition of wine growing and wine production. Wine tasting with brunch. Continue to Becej and visit to the impressive and renown Fantast Castle of the once rich Dundjerski landlords. Drive on along Vojvodina vast plain to the Palic wine region and visit to the famous Zvonko Bogdan Winery, set in the harmonious building in the Art Nouveau style and entirely surrounded with vineyards. Introduction into wine technology and the luxurious winery and barrique cellar, followed with tasting of excellent ‘wines of the sands’ : white wines of Sauvignon blanc, Pinot blanc, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay and red wines of Merlot and Frankovka, with specially selected food to remember the authentic Vojvodina flavors. Accommodation in the famous rusticly appointed salash – traditional farm house. Overnight.
Day 2 After breakfast short visit to the beautiful Palic lake and Subotica, while enjoying the panorama from the top of the City Hall, the Synagogue and Raichle Palace. Drive direction Novi Sad. Break for visit to the renown Salas 137 – authentic farm in tiny Cenej village – one of the best true lifestyle facility and rustic attractions of Vojvodina. Tasting of homemade smoked delicacies and best local wines. Continue to Novi Sad and short walking tour along the pedestrian historical core of the city: the City Hall, the Cathedral, the Liberty Square… Visit to the Petrovaradin Fortress from where spreads memorable panorama of Novi Sad. Drive on to Sremski Karlovci, cultural, educational and spiritual center of Serbs. Accommodation in the luxury Premier President Hotel. Traditional dinner with tasting of the best wines of Sremski Karlovci and Fruska Gora. Overnight /wellness options available/.
Day 3 After breakfast walking tour of the beautiful Baroque center of Sremski Karlovci : the Patriarchal Residence, Saint Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, Gymnasium, Four Lions Fountain… Visit to one of the most famous Wineries of Sremski Karlovci and introduction into well-preserved technology of Fruska Gora wine production with tour of the beautifully appointed wine cellar. Wine tasting – Italian Riesling and the special authochtonous Bermet dessert wine. Drive along gentle slopes of the Fruska Gora Mountain/National Park to the Perko salash traditional farm House. Cordial welcome of the enthusiastic host dressed in traditional costume, serving homemade rakija /brandy/ or juice, bread and salt. Homemade lunch – beef goulash with homemade noodles. Tasting of authentic wines of Fruska Gora : Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Probus. Optional visit to the Hopovo Monastery which features beautiful frescoes from the 16th century. The crown point of the Vojvodina wine tour on our way to Belgrade is visit to the Kovacevic Winery for introduction into reputed wine production, that ends with tasting of excellent Fruska Gora wines : Aurelius, Orfelin and Sauvignon blanc, that best go with Turkey in cranberry sauce…. Evening arrival to Belgrade and end of program and services.
