Day 1 Belgrade – Kovacica
Arrival to Belgrade, transfer to Kovacica and hotel accommodation. Welcome by local artisans and visit to naïve Galleries. Traditional lunch. Optional tour to Violin manufacture Workshop. Short time at leisure. Dinner with music and folklore performance. Overnight.
Day 2 Kosmaj Mountain
After breakfast half-day program in Kovacica /paiting and folklore courses/. Lunch. Afternoon drive via Belgrade to Shumadija area – the Central Serbia. Accommodation in luxury appointed tourist complex with pools, traditional dinner, overnight. /Optional relaxation in Wellness Center/.
Day 3 Oplenac Royal Mausoleum – Ovcar – Kablar Gorge
After breakfast drive to Oplenac and Topola. Visit to the Royal Family Mausoleum and St George Church located in beautiful park. Lunch. Visit to traditional wine cellar and delicious wines tasting. Drive via Satornja and beautiful Rudnik Mountain to Ovcar-Kablar Gorge , known as the “Holy Serbian Athos” for 11 Medieval Orthodox Monasteries. Hotel accommodation, dinner, overnight. /Optional relaxation and recreation program in Wellness Centre/.
Day 4 Nikolje Monastery – Rudno village – Studenica Monastery
After breakfast ferry ride across Morava River up to Saint Nicholas Monastery /Nikolje Monastery/. Drive to Rudno village and traditional lunch in rural household, while enjoying magnificent panorama to surrounding mountain chains. Afternoon arrival to Studenica Monastery Complex and sightseeing tour of the most significant endowment of Stefan Nemanya founded in 12th century, UNESCO listed. Accommodation in Monastery Dormitory, monastic dinner, overnight.
Day 5 Gradac Monastery – Djurdjevi Stupovi Monastery – Sopocani Monastery – Novi Pazar
After breakfast drive to Gradac Monastery, the Queen Helen of Anjou endowment. Drive on via Raška to Novi Pazar and visit to Djurdjevi Stupovi Monastery and Sopocani Monastery. Sightseeing of the masterpieces of Serbian UNESCO protected values. Visit to the Ras Museum and St Peters Church. Accommodation and dinner in Novi Pazar hotel. Overnight.
Day 6 Pec Patriarchate – Visoki Decani Monastery
After breakfast drive via Rozaje to Pec Patriarchate Monastery Complex , located at the very entrance of the Rugova Gorge near Pec along the Pec Bistrica River. Visitation of the Complex of four Orthodox Medieval Monasteries. Lunch. Drive to Decani Monastery, the most significant and majestic endowment of St. King Stefan of Decani, built in 14th century. The Holy Liturgy, tour of the Monastery Complex with visit to the Icon-painting workshop. Refreshment. Accommodation in Monastery Dormitory or the Pec hotel, dinner, overnight.
Day 7 Gazimestan Kosovo Monument – Gracanica Monastery – Draganac Monastery – Leskovac
After breakfast drive via Pec to Pristina. Visitation of the Monument of Serbian heroes built on the Kosovo Field, the battle place of victorious battle against Turks. Visit to Gracanica Monastery, the famous endowment of King Milutin built in 14th century. Drive on to the tiny picturesque village of Zebince and homemade lunch at the authentic rural household. Continue to Draganac Monastery and sightseeing. Drive on to Leskovac, hotel accommodation, dinner, overnight.
Day 8 Empress Town Iustiniana Prima – Belgrade
After breakfast tour of the Empress Town – the Iustiniana Prima archaeological site, the most significant early-Byzantine town in the Balkans, and the Episcopal seat and military and administrative center of the Iustiniana Prima Illyric Province, and the seat of the Archbishopric of the North Illyricum from the 6th century. Drive along highway to Belgrade, with break for traditional lunch. Hotel accommodation, free evening, overnight.
Day 9 Belgrade
After breakfast Belgrade half day sightseeing tour : Kalemegdan Fortress from where spreads magic panorama of the confluence of the Belgrade rivers of Sava and Danube, the Republic Square, the Parliament, Saint Sava Orthodox Cathedral, Knez Mihajlo’s pedestrian-shopping zone… Free time at leisure for individual program. Farewell dinner with music program. Overnight.
Day 10 Belgrade departure
After breakfast, time at leisure before transfer to Belgrade Airport. Departure flight and end of program.
