Te Stefi Hotel Qeparo Himara
The Te Stefi Hotel is comfortable 4 stars tourist facility in the tiny Qeparo village, on the wonderful Albanian Riviera, 14 km from Himara, some 40 km from Saranda, which is well connected with the ferry with the Greek Corfu Island. The location of the Te Stefi Hotel in the small Qeparo village on the wonderful Albanian south coast is amazing, right on the beach and featuring the breathtaking view from the balcony, nothing between the nicely appointed accommodation and the wonderful seashore, approximately 20 meters away.
The village of Lower Qeparo is located close to the gulf of Porto Palermo and features its own distinctive beach. The Porto Palermo Castle was built by Ali Pasha to guard against the Himariotes, and nowadays is part of the Qeparo territory. However, the Old-Upper Qeparo, built on the hillside, has several extraordinary picturesque historical sights including the three-story Towers of Ali Pasha, the Monastery of St Demetrius – Shën Dhimitri, and the House of Minella Gjika, and the locals with the spirit of cosmopolitanism and sophistication. Upper Qeparo village is connected by a small steep winding road that cuts quickly up a hillside covered in olive trees. In 15 minutes one can make a trip that even during communism would have been a two-hour hike, and a much more substantial separation from the rest of civilization. The oldest portion of the Upper Qeparo village with unique whitewashed architecture and cobblestone narrow streets, at a precipice on the north side seems to cling impossibly close to the edge and provides incredible views of the blue Ionian water below and the original idea of the village as a rugged, but cultured outpost protected by the extreme terrain.
The Te Stefi Hotel boasts 21 non-smoking twin and triple and quadruple rooms, all with sea view balconies, bathrooms with showers and toiletries, and LCD TV with cable channels and air-conditioning. The rooms of the Te Stefi Hotel in Qeparo are cozy and simple but provide all that clients keen to listen to the sea at night whilst going to sleep need.
It is a 20 second walk to your sun bed, and the same to the restaurant, making the Te Stefi Hotel in the Qeparo a perfect choice for guests who want a sea-side escape. The Te Stefi Hotel in Qeparo is ideal for having drinks and food at your sun bed. The food at the restaurant of the Te Stefi Hotel in Qeparo is also very varied and pleases every taste, including fresh sea food and choice of pizza and pasta.
During their stay in the Te Stefi Hotel, visitors are warmly recommended to visit the Upper Qeparo village – the Old Qeparo, which has retained many aspects of traditional village life, original stone architecture and many of the practices related to the villages are typical of the southern Albanian ethno-culture (Metohu 2015, pp. 15-16). Local inhabitants produce their own food, growing fruit and vegetables, and raising sheep and goats for cheese and other dairy products. Households produce their own raki /brandy/. Women continue to make traditional handicrafts and textiles; older women continue the tradition of changing dress colors as they age.
