Stol Mountain
Stol Mountain is situated in Eastern Serbia, 15 km far from Bor and belongs to Bor District and the region known as Timocka Krajina. The summit of Goli Krš Mountain is Stol, 1156 meters high, situated between the ranges of Veliki and Mali Krš and Deli Jovan Mountains. Stol Mountain is abundant with attractive mountainous and alpine terrains and vast meadows rich in medicinal herbs. Stol Mountain is real Eco-zone of Serbia and thus very convenient for mount climbing, walking and trekking, extreme sports due to its challenging alpine terrains that are among the most difficult in Serbia. In winter skiing is very popular due to good ski tracks and ski lift. Beside the mountain cottage there is tiny clear lake from where spreads one of the most beautiful panorama in Serbia.
At the foothill of Stol Mountain there are strong springs. Nice forests and fragrant meadows and pastures give this mountain exceptional view. Visitor to this mountain are mostly climbers, climbing-lovers, nature-lovers, gliders, hunters, researchers, scouts and various people fond of picturesque scenery. Veliki Krs Mountain looks like long and narrow island reef with sharp crest and steep slopes. It stretches between Gornjane-Vlaole road to the north and Bucje village above the town of Bor to the south. Climate is mountainous-continental. Exceptional biological, species and ecosystem diversity found here enable memorable vacations for nature-lovers.
