Stara Planina Mountain Adventure – escorted Adventure Tour

Day 1. Morning departure from Belgrade and drive along highway Belgrade – Nis Paraćin to Zaječar. Visit to the National Museum Zajecar and Archaeological site of Felix Romuliana. Drive to the picturesque village of Balta Berilovac located at the foot of Stara Planina Mountain – Nature Park. Welcome at Babin Zub Villa and accommodation. Traditional dinner, overnight.

Day 2. After breakfast transfer to the starting point of walking tour to one of the most beautiful spots of Stara Planina Mountain – Babin Zub mountain range – about 2,5 hours of walking. Outdoor picnic lunch – traditional food. Walks along fragrant meadows and forests of wonderful Stara Planina Mountain to the Tri Čuke observation point. Visit to the Bigar Waterfalls and ancient watermills close to Kalna village. Visit to the traditional exhibition in Ćuštica village. Traditional dinner, overnight.

Day 3. After breakfast drive to Pirot and visit to the Ponišavlje Museum housing rich archaeological and ethnographic collections. Continue to Saint George Monastery in Temska village and sightseeing. Monastic refreshment. Return to Balta Berilovac village and Stara Planina Mt Party – milking cows, soaking and making cheese in traditional way, shepherd games, presentation of traditional customs, dances and songs of Stara Planina, big-pipe and flute music entertainment, costumed performance of Hajduk Veljko, dressing folk costumes and fur hats, playing ancient instruments, kolo dance… Rich traditional meal. Overnight.

Day 4. After breakfast drive to the Archaeological site of Timacum Minus – Ravna and sightseeing. Continue to the rustic household with sheep farm in Vlaško Polje village, situated at the foot of gorgeous Tupižnica Mountain. Accommodation. Outdoor activities and fun – picking up medicinal herbs, sheep sheering, shepherd games, presentation of preserved East Serbia customs, gastronomic workshop, quad drive……Traditional lunch – roasted lamb. Walk to one of the observation points of Tupižnica Mountain. Traditional dinner, overnight.

Day 5. After breakfast departure for Belgrade with stop over for sightseeing of Ravanica Monastery. Afternoon arrival and end of program and services.
