Day 1 Belgrade arrival
Arrival to Belgrade in late afternoon. Centrally located 4 stars hotel accommodation. Dinner in hotel. Overnight.
Day 2 Belgrade tour
After breakfast half-day Belgrade city tour : Republic Square, National Theater, Saint Sava Orthodox Cathedral /second largest Orthodox church in the world/, Kalemegdan Fortress which features magnificent panorama over the Sava and the Danube Rivers confluence. …. Free time for lunch and afternoon free at leisure or visit to the Ethnographic Museum and the Fresco Gallery. Dinner in authentic Belgrade „Kafana Dačo” or similar Restaurant. Overnight.
Day 3 Belgrade – Topola – Zica Monastery – Studenica Monastery
After breakfast drive along beautiful slopes of Sumadija to Topola and tour of the Royal Mausoleum and St George Church featuring wonderful mosaics. Traditional lunch in Aranđelovac. Drive on via Kragujevac to Kraljevo and tour of Zica Monastery /13th century. Drive along the beautiful “Kings’ Valley” named after numerous monasteries built by Serbian Medieval kings to Studenica Monastery Complex. Sightseeing of the four Medieval churches complex and accommodation in Monastery Dormitory. “Monastic” dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Studenica Monastery – Guca – Mecavnik Drvengrad Woodentown
After breakfast drive through gorgeous scenery of the mountains of Central Serbia along the Studenica River Valley. Stop over for touring Pridvorica Monastery /13th century/. Drive on via Ivanjica to Guca. Traditional lunch in Guca Restaurant accompanied with brass orchestra performance. Drive on via Pozega to Mecavnik and accommodation in Drvengrad – Wooden Town Hotel, Film Academy and traditional settlement established by famous Film Director Emir Kusturica. Tour of the Wooden Town, documentary film projection. Traditional dinner, overnight.
Day 5 Mecavnik Drvengrad – Sargan Eight Train – Terzica avlija Ethno Park Zlakusa village – Belgrade
After breakfast Sargan ancient train ride along beautiful slopes of Tara National Park /2,5 hours ride/. Drive to tiny Zlakusa village, famous for numerous highly skillful artisans specialized in pottery manufacture. Traditional lunch in “Terzica Avlija” /Terzic’s Yard traditional settlement. Folklore performance and pottery manufacture workshop. Drive along magic landscape of central Serbia to Belgrade. Hotel accommodation. Traditional farewell dinner in the famous Skadarlija bohemian street restaurant, overnight.
Day 6 Belgrade departure
After breakfast free time until transfer to Belgrade airport, departure and end of program.
