Day 1 Belgrade
Arrival to Belgrade and hotel accommodation. Belgrade sightseeing tour : Kalemegdan Fortress, Republic Square, Saint Sava Orthodox Cathedral, Parliament, Princess Ljubica Manor, Dedinje quarter… Visit to the Ethnographic Museum. Free afternoon. Traditional dinner with live tamburitza music in famous Skadarlija restaurant. Overnight.
Day 2 Belgrade – Sirmium – Novi Sad – Belgrade
After breakfast drive to the Sirmium Archaeological Site and the Roman Imperial Palace and sightseeing. Drive to Hrtkovci village and tour of Gomolava Archaeological site. Continue to Novi Sad and visit to the Museum of Vojvodina, with rich exhibition of the Roman legacy. Return to Belgrade. Dinner, overnight.
Day 3 Belgrade – Viminacium site – Lepenski Vir site – Donji Milanovac
After breakfast drive to spectacular Viminacium archaeological site and the former Roman military camp containing luxurious Imperial villas, monumental Palaces, vast Streets, Amphitheaters, Baths on the surface of 420 hectares. Sightseeing followed by the “Roman lunch”. Continue to Golubac Fortress, one of the most beautiful and most significant fortifications on the Danube River, located at the very entrance to the Djerdap National Park. Photo-shooting. Continue to Lepenski Vir archaeological site and tour of the Museum containing artifacts dating back 10000 years ago, located within the Djerdap National Park. Drive on to Donji Milanovac and accommodation in first class rural households and apartments. Traditional dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Donji Milanovac – Djerdap National Park – Kladovo
After breakfast drive to Kladovo along the Iron Gate, the most beautiful part of the Danube River course, that provides panoramas of unparalleled beauty thanks to steep canyon sides, valleys and ravines, that are nature masterpieces within the Djerdap National Park. Lunch en route. Visit to the Archaeological Museum in Kladovo and remains of the Emperor’s Trajan Bridge and Pontes camp. Hotel accommodation, dinner, overnight.
Day 5 Kladovo – Tabula Traiana – Rajac wineries – Brestovacka Banja Spa
After breakfast departure Tekije village and boat ride to the Tabula Traiana – the Emperor’s Trajan Plaque, commemorating construction of the Roman road along the Danube River course. Continue to Rajac Wineries, a historical entity of about 270 authentic wine cellars more than 200 years old and unique cultural sight dedicated to the glory of wine. Wine tasting and traditional lunch. Drive on to Brestovacka Banja Spa located in beautiful setting and hotel accommodation. Traditional dinner, overnight.
Day 6 Felix Romuliana – Timacum Minus – Nis
After breakfast drive to Gamzigrad and tour of the Felix Romuliana late antiquity archaeological site and the Imperial Palace of Emperor Galerius, famous for monumental palaces decorated with luxurious mosaics, that is UNESCO Heritage site. Continue to Zajecar and visit to the City Museum. Drive on to town of Knjaževac and tour of Timacum Minus – Ravna Archaeological site. Lunch en route. Drive along majestic scenery of East Serbia to Niš. Hotel accommodation. Traditional dinner. Overnight.
Day 7 Mediana site – Caricin Grad – Prolom Banja Spa
After breakfast visit to the Mediana Archaeological Site, summer residence of Emperor Constantine the Great. Drive on to Caricin Grad Archaeological Site – the Empress Town – Iustiniana Prima, one of the most significant early-Byzantine sites in the Balkans. Sightseeing. Drive along beautiful slopes of Radan Mountain to Prolom Banja Spa/Lukovska Banja Spa located within the intact nature and hotel accommodation. Day 8 Djavolja varos – Plocnik site – Studenica Monastery
After breakfast visit to the Devil’s Town – Đavolja varoš, unique natural phenomenon featuring more than 200 earth pyramids, created by erosion. Continue to the Neolithic archaeological sie of Plocnik and sightseeing, with presentation of authentic metalulgy melting, as “Vinchians” did in the early past. Traditional lunch. Driva via the Kopaonik National Park to Studenica Monastery complex, 12th century. Accommodation in Studenica Monastery Dormitory /double rooms with facilities/. Monastic or traditional dinner. Overnight.
Day 9 Zica Monastery – Oplenac Royal Mausoleum – Belgrade
After breakfast drive along the Ibar River Valley, known as the Kings’ Valley to Žiča Monastery, 13th century and sightseeing. Drive along beautiful slopes of central Serbia – Sumadija to Topola. Tour of the Royal Mausoleum and the Church of Saint George, featuring gorgeous mosaics, located on Oplenac Hill. Continue to Belgrade. Hotel accommodation. Farewell dinner on the boat. Overnight.
Day 10 departure
After breakfast transfer to Belgrade Airport. Departure flight and end of program and services.
