Palazzo Radomiri Hotel Dobrota Kotor
Palazzo Radomiri Hotel is 4 stars quiet, luxury and small facility right on the fabulous waterfront of the /once/ sleepy Dobrota village of the beautiful Kotor Bay in the Montenegrin Adriatic, where one can still admire the former splendour of the bay and the nobility of Kotor from the time of sailing ships, when the famous Captain Ivo Visin sailed the seven seas with his Splendido ship, spreading the fame of these regions and bringing many riches back home. The seaside promenade of Dobrota is connected with the Kotor UNESCO town museum and runs for several km along the Boka Kotor shore beside numerous little stone villas and magnificent palaces, which are different and more splendid than anywhere else. In the 17th and the 18th century the Radomiri clan had greatly prospered thanks to developed marine business. The Radomiri Family ranks as the most wealthy one in Dobrota, and richest in number of captains it provided – 110 captains. They possessed 44 sailing ships and 24 houses on various locations in the area between the Ljuta village up to Kotor. In the 18th and the 19th century the most distinguished members of the Radomiri family were knight Božo Radimir (1738-66); Krsto Radov (1766-1832), praised with the Legion of Honor in the Napoleon era and Filip Tripov (1828-1901), decorated by the Black Sea command during the Crimean war in 1854. During this time Radomiri Family clan had built number of spacious and noble structures, which were called the Captain houses by locals. The Chapel of Saint Michael was erected along with those palaces, that still belong to the Radomiri clan, and where all members of the family are buried. The chapel and the whole complex of structures make an original ambiance of the clan settlement of Boka, which makes it significant monument of culture on the local level. At the shore area of Dobrota, the spatial planning aimed to create a common picture of arranged maritime civil ambiance with significant cultural heritage. Because of that, the whole Dobrota shore surface has been proclaimed the zone of the building heritage with special rules of construction. All houses and palaces in this area – regardless their aim for living, tourism or culture, must obey the historical picture of Dobrota, which means that any modernization of the facades would greatly jeopardize the character of the settlement.
