Novi Sad Maximus Adventure




Day 1:  Arrival and met by a professional Panacomp guide at Nikola Tesla Airport, Belgrade. High tourist class AC van/coach transportation to the Varad Inn Boutique Hostel Novi Sad – Petrovaradin. Welcome gathering and presentation. Dinner, overnight.

Day 2: Breakfast. All day outdoor activities – Hike and tour of Vrdnik and surrounding area. Vrdnik Banja Spa offers a specific combination of history, culture and nature. The tour covers the village and surrounding landscape – we follow narrow trails leading to a lookout point, continue up and down hill reaching a stream with a spring and waterfall in a secluded and mysterious forest. After a short break, we hike towards the other side of the Vrdnik Spa to the Medieval tower sitting atop a hill with a fantastic view of Srem. The total distance covered is around 9km, and provides a true example of Fruska gora’s  nature. Traditional organic lunch in Ethno village. Afternoon Stone Village Adventure Challenge – race (hiking, scavenger hunt, archery, air rifle target shooting, adventure obstacles). Visit to a hidden historical location – the remains of an old coal mine and stone houses. An adventure race away from sight, secluded from paths and roads. Participants warm up and attempt to successfully complete the adventure race obstacles. Return to the Varad Inn Boutique Hostel. Wine and rakia tasting with big dinner. Overnight.

Day 3: After breakfast transport to the late 15th century Rakovac Monastery which was destroyed, abandoned, and rebuilt numerous times. Hiking tour from the Rakovac monastery to Beli Majdan Quarry, Ascetic Rock Church and Stari Ledinci,  through an old quarry with  amazing terraces and structures. The first stop after about an hour is at the old Ascetic church carved into stone, which in the past was actively used by Rakovac monastery priest during fasting days and solitude. The hike ends at the Dobro Prase Ranch – Aktivna Fruska in Ledinci village, with an organic lunch. Horse riding, orienteering, exploration of a small cavea remaining entrance to an old gold mine and a dynamic adventure challenge. Transport to Varad Inn Boutique Hostel. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 4: After breakfast all day outdoor adventure activities – Petrovaradin fortress scavenger hunt, exploring the fortress, including the museum and the underground passages. Following a brief introduction to the fortress, its history and architecture, we explore it further! Participants receive maps of the fortress with marked locations which are to be photographed. Some of these places include: the museum, military galleries (catacombs), hills and tunnels, the old bridge and the modern touristic side. The adventure scavenger hunt will take you back to a mysterious and scary past and return you to the present with a different perspective of the Fortress and its history. Activities continue in Novi Sad by exploring the city and seeing it all in an unconventional way. The center, the quay, the parks and streets are all yours to be discovered. You will receive a map and instructions, so the paths you choose are your own. Guaranteed a fun time with lots of pictures along the way! Transport to Sremski Karlovci, cultural, educational and spiritual center of Serbs. Short walking tour along the beautiful baroque Sremski Karlovci center – the Patriarchal Residence, Four Lions fountain, the St Nicholas Church, the Gymnasium… Town of Sremski Karlovci is famous for numerous wineries and long viticulture tradition. Visit to the Chapel of Peace and Historical class of the Karalowitz Peace Treaty. Visit to the Kugloff Cake workshop and preparation of this cake in traditional way, followed by tasting. Tasting delicious wines of the Fruska Gora region in two authentic wine cellars in Sremski Karlovci. Late afternoon departure to Varad Inn Boutique Hostel. Free evening. Overnight.

Day 5: After breakfast short hike, outdoor food preparation and cooking adventure at the place where Fruska Gora National Park meets the surrounding villages. Here you will explore the surreal nature, forests, streams and hilltops along with a variety of plant and animal life. A short hike along forest paths leads to the perfect spot for an open fire and cooking adventure. Together we create a Serbian meal the traditional way. Participants gather their own wood, make a fire, prepare the food and cook it. Whose will taste the best? We have the recipe, but do you have the skills? Outdoor Lunch. Return to the Varad Inn Boutique Hostel Free evening. Overnight.

Day 6: After breakfast transfer to the village of Futog at the outskirts of Novi Sad, famous for growing of extraordinary cabbage and well-developed production of cabbage casserole and other pickled salads. Visit to the sarma manufacture workshop and presentation of preparation of this favorite Balkan dish. Tasting. Contineu to the Cvejin salas farm in the nearby village of Begec. Break for visit to the authentic farm and its lifestyle. Refreshment : homemade juice. Ride across the Danube to the other side of the river by an old-fashioned ferry. Visit to the small winery at the foot of Fruska Gora National Park in Banostor village with presentation of well-preserved viticulture customs and traditions. Wine tasting with traditional brunch in authentic wine cellar. Late afternoon return to the Varad Inn Boutique Hostel. Farewell dinner, overnight.

Day 7: Breakfast. Check out from the Varad Inn Boutique Hostel. Transfer to Nikola Tesla Airport, Belgrade. End of program and services.
