The Novi Pazar Banja Spa is located in southwest-central Serbia, in the Raska county, and 280 km south of Belgrade, only 3 km away from center of Novi Pazar. The Novi Pazar Banja Spa is located between the slopes of the Rogozna Mountain and the mountain massifs of the Golija Mountain and the Kopaonik National Park and the Ninaja Mountain, fully surrounded with greenery and clear mountain air and extraordinary cultural heritage – medieval monasteries of Sopocani, Djurdjevi stupovi and SS Apostles Peter and Paul church and the Stari Ras fort-archaeological site – the UNESCO heritage sites. The Novi Pazar Banja Spa is famous health resort ever since, although its popularity decreased after the Turkish conquest of Medieval Serbia – after 1459. When the Ottomans perceived natural beauties and healthy benefits of this area, they have constructed some catering facilities and two steam baths – hammams that greatly contributed to development of the Novi Pazar Banja Spa. Novi Pazar was destroyed in the eighties of the 17th century but in the 18th century the new spacious bath – hammam was built, which is still today in function and adorns the Novi Pazar Banja Spa. The Institute for healing and rehabilitation of muscular and neuro-muscular illnesses was established in Novi Pazar Banja Spa after the Second WW, while at the beginning of the 21st century the spa and tourist-catering infrastructure was greatly improved to the benefits and enjoyment of numerous patients and visitors.
