Nova Varoš Rural Tourism accommodation

Zlatar Mountain and Nova Varos Municipality are located in southwest Serbia, between Lim, Mileševka and Bistrica rivers. Nova Varos is situated about 230 km south of Belgrade and 195 km north of Podgorica /Montenegro/ and 180 km east of Sarajevo /Bosnia and Herzegovina/. All characteristics of Zlatar Mountain perform its name : fragrant meadows, crystal lakes surrounded by thick pine and birch forests, the unique harmony of Mediterranean and mountainous climate, numerous sunny days, fresh mountain air rich in terpentine and ozone, endless views… Zlatar mountain, thanks to its morphology, uniquely pleasant climate, specific fauna and authentic nature ranks among the most beautiful tourist regions in Serbia, suitable for sport and re-creative activities, excursions, health and wellness tourism, hunting, convention and rural tourism. The protected Balkan bird “griffin vulture” is settled above the breathtaking Uvac River Canyon and makes the largest natural habitat of this predator bird in the Balkans. The Uvac Nature Reservation, as the ecological region abundant in crystal clear waters rich in fresh-water fish make the the rafting and photo-safari paradise and varios programs attract many visitors. Three beautiful artificial lakes – Zlatar, Uvac – Sjenica and Radoinja Lakes, interesting rural households which provide tourist services as well as the Monasteries of Mileševa and Dubnica and Banja Monastery, and the Old Stitkovo village and other sites complete the tourist offer of the wonderful Zlatar Mountain.

The 15 cycling routes of total 400 km have been marked within the West Serbia area, in favour of the active bikers and cyclists outdoor vacations. In this way the marked cycling routes  connect tourist destination of West Serbia which provide visitors and locals choice of their wishes and physical conditions, as well as to choose tourist attractions they want to visit. Zlatibor is connected with the Tara Mountain via Mokra gora, Divčibare with the Užice area, Kosjerić and Požega. Arilje and Ivanjica are connected with the Golija Mountain, Uvac Special Nature Reserve, Pešter Plateau, Zlatar and Prijepolje. The cycling routes are well marked with the tourist signposts, there are wooden coverage in the resting points for cyclists, hikers and mountaineers.
