In Kastel Mariette, upstairs bedrooms are nicely decorated with taste, bright, equipped with wooden stylish furniture, each with a bathroom with shower. The large lounge, dining room, porch and downstairs kitchen are common areas dedicated to guests’ satisfaction and activities as seminars, celebrations and presentations. The yard is a free space for various outdoor parties and gatherings, as well as free parking for guests.

How to reach the Kastel Mariette and enjoy the blend of two beauties – the facility in Deliblato Sands – from Belgrade choose the E-70 Belgrade-Vrsac highway, turn into the village of Uljma at the gas station /on the way to Bela Crkva/, pass the next village of Izbiste, at the end of the village at the water tower turn right to the Susara village. At the entrance to the village, turn left and drive for two kilometers along Banat Street. Kastel Mariette is located on the right side of the street. A light wind swept over the endless meadows, and all nature laughed in the sunshine. Of course, bring your pet with you.
Reservation is required, with group visits announcement of 7 days prior arrival, depending on availability. The Deliblato Sands Nature Reserve is area about 300 square kilometers between the Danube River and the Carpathians/, making an unique geomorphologic phenomenon in the Pannonian Plain. The dunes and interdependent depressions are particularly pronounced, with diverse ecosystems – sandstone, meadow-steppe, forest-steppe, forest and Ramsar. It is known for its clean and healthy air. The special appearance of the steppe area during the year is given by saffron, corn, thyme, mulberry grass, other aromatic and honey plants, violets, irises, wild hyacinth, lily of the valley, Banat peony, bushy formations of juniper, hawthorn, calluses, yellows, rust, and acacia, pine, linden and oak forests. The Deliblato Sands is the Important Bird Area, since 2002 Nature Reserve which comprises an elongated elliptical tract of sand, spreading north from the Danube River towards the villages of Susara, Vladimirovac and Banatski Karlovac. It covers grazing-pasture, steppe habitats, woodland, scrub, conifer plantations, vineyards and agricultural land. 180 bird species are recorded here, among them European Nightjar, Honey Buzzard, Long-legged Buzzard, Booted Eagle, Montagu’s Harrier, European Bee-eater, Scops Owl, Ural Owl /winter/, Hoopoe, Eurasian Wryneck, Green Woodpecker, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Red-backed Shrike, Lesser Grey Shrike, Crested Lark, Woodlark, Tawny Pipit, Barred Warbler, Golden Oriole, Common Nightingale, Hawfinch.
The Labudovo okno is the Ramsar Site and an Important Bird Area which makes a section of the Danube flood-plain, situated south of the Deliblato Sands (some 45 km/40 min from Kastel Mariette). The Labudovo Okno site covers the course of the Danube River and the floodplains along the river banks, including the flooded mouths of the rivers Karaš (with its upstream meanders) and Nera, swamps of Dubovački rit, plains of Stevanove ravnice and the islands of Žilava, Čibuklija and Zavojska ada. Natural Oak, Willow and Poplar forests as well as poplar plantations, wet meadows, marshes, dry grasslands are present. It is an important stopover site and wintering area that attracts the largest congregations of water birds anywhere in the country. It is the Nature reserve since 2002 where 250 bird species are recorded, among them Greater White-fronted Goose, Ferruginous Duck, Common Goldeneye, Smew, Goosander, Squacco Heron, Purple Heron, Glossy Ibis, Pygmy Cormorant, Great Spotted Eagle, White-tailed Eagle, Osprey (migration only), Caspian Gull (winter), Whiskered Tern, European Turtle Dove, European bee-eater, Sand Martin.
The Vrsac Mountains is important Bird Area, a hilly area on the boundary between the Pannonian lowlands and the Carpathian massif, located some 40 km/30 min east of the Kastel Mariette. Extensive plains comprising steppic habitats, agricultural land and vineyards surround forests of oak Quercus, beech Fagus, hornbeam Carpinus, lime Tilia, ash Fraxinus and maple Acer. It is the Nature reserve since 2005 where 150 bird species are recorded (if we include the adjoining Mali rit marsh in the northern foothills, that figure goes to 220): Honey Buzzard, Short-toed Eagle, Short-toed snake eagle, Levant Sparrow hawk, Lesser Spotted Eagle, Corncrake, Scops Owl, Tawny Owl, Ural Owl, Woodcock, Grey-heade Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker, Black Woodpecker, Syrian Woodpecker, Collared Flycatcher, Rock Bunting. Other wildlife of Deliblato Sands and Labudovo okno: Butterflies: Zerynthia polyxena, Parnassius mnemosyne, Colias myrmidone, Lycaena dispar, Glaucopsyche alexis. Dragonflies: Calopteryx splendens, Sympecma fusca, Lestes viridis, Lestes barbarus, L. virens, L. dryas, L. sponsa, Platycnemis pennipes, Ischnura elegans, I. pumilio, Erythromma viridulum, Gomphus flavipes.
