Far away from the bustling overwhelming city, on the beautiful gentle slopes of Fruska Gora Mt, there is the farm and the winery of Kurilić Family, one of the jewels of Fruska Gora that is must see !
The Kurilic farm and the Winery is located in the westernmost part of the fruitful Fruska Gora Mt, the largest „island” of the Panonian Plain, set along the road which leads from Nestin to Vizic. The slopes are for two millennia exposed to the warm sun and fed by sweating of hardworking and diligent farmers. For their efforts to reach this unknown oasis of serenity and spirit that are rarely found, visitors are awarded with experience which make them return. Cheerful and dedicated hosts are engaged in number of agricultural works that mean running a prosperous and reputed estate, rich in numerous animals and surrounded with vineyards. When visiting this vast and rustic estate of Fruska Gora Mt, visitors see goats, sheep, mangalitza pigs, ordinary pigs, poultry… Throughout the year visitors enjoy in rich meals, prepared of produce and ingredients from own production in authentic way in true natural atmosphere…The favorite food served at the Kurilić farm come as traditional and simple meals of Vojvodina region, which please visitors and go well with homemade rakia – brandy and wines, and the famous tamburitza bands of this viticulture area – homemade bread baked in the furnace, kulen, ham, cracklings, sausage – of mangulitza, goat cheese, tomato soup with noodles, paprikas winegrower style, goulash, Srem style rostilj /grilled meat/, noodles filled with plums and nuts… Visitors who want to experience the combination of idyllic and hardworking lifestyle of farmers are welcome to take part in preparation of rakia, work in vineyards, harvesting, preparation of pickled salad and ayvar, pig slaughtering /in winter/ and numerous activities of the successfully run farm and agriculture.
The wine – Ambrosia of deities are found in many temples in the world. One of them is surely the Gaston Winery in Neštin, set in the wine-growing region where viticulture is performed for more than 17 centuries, where the Roman emperors used to have their vineyards. Fruška Gora is one of the most famous wine-growing regions of Serbia, and the particular vineyards of the Kurilic family are set close to the first Roman vineyards. The Fruska Gora slopes are for two millennia exposed to the warm sun and fed by sweating of hardworking and diligent farmers, who pay special care to the quality of wines they produce. The most grown wine sorts in the Kurilić vineyards are Italian Riesling (Riesling of Fruška Gora), Sauvignon blanc, Sinkerek (coupage of Fruška Gora Riesling and Župljanka sort), Cabernet, Sauvignon, Fulfuns (coupage of Cabernet, Merlot and Burgundy), Muscat Hamburg, Marcelan. The reputed dessert red wine of bermet is also produced in the Gaston Winery of the Kurilic Family. Visitors fully enjoy in the rustic atmosphere of the Gaston Winery, located on the very shore of the Danube river, tastes and flavors of fruitful nature, preparation of rakija in traditional way, gourmet culinary courses of various original dishes of Vojvodina and making and baking bread in the old furnace, fishing, wine and rakia tasting in the pleasant tasting room, or in serenity and peace or the memorable tambouritza music of the famous Nestin tambouritza bands….
