Grmija Mountain
Grmija is Mountain and the Nature Park of the territory of 1168 picturesque hectares in Kosovo and Metohija. Grmija Mountain is located 6 km east of Pristina at the altitude between 700 and 1100 meters. Grmija Mountain belongs to the region Novo Brdo mountains in Kosovo and Metohija. Grmija Mountain borders Gracanicko Lake in the south, Pristevka River in the north, Businjska River in the east and the city of Pristina in the west.
Investigation in Kosovo Basin and surroundings over many years has reveled the presence of 127 vegetable species both cultivated and wild. There are outposts of green, the biggest and best of which is Grmija Park. During the summer, the lake-sized swimming pool at Grmija tourist resort is a hot spot for families and young people, but year-round the park itself offers grassy spaces to relax or kick the ball around, and a network of mine-cleared trails through the dense woods perfect for dog-walking or drunken hide-and-seek tournaments or to have fantastic food in the famous restaurant. Unfortunately Grmija Park of Nature was constantly bombed by NATO in 1999.
