Day 1 Novi Sad /Belgrade – Zdrelo village
Departure around noon with high tourist-class bus from Novi Sad or Belgrade, drive along highway to the tiny village of Zdrelo in the Petrovac Municipality in East Serbia. Accommodation in comfortable facilities of Simonovic and Jenic accommodation, and Archery course by experienced archery instructors. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Via Ferrata and Hike in Gornjak Gorge
After breakfast transfer to the starting point of the Gornjak Via Ferrata, meeting with Ferrata climbing-hiking instructors of the Gornjak Mountaineering Club, taking on safety equipment /helmet, steel chains, belt, ferrata set/ and instructions for highly demanding climb along the steep – nearly vertical rock…. The length of the Gornjak Via Ferrata path is 400 meters and features altitude difference of 330 meters, with ferrata sections of B, C and D which designate difficulty level while participants climb the steep side of the rock by usage of steel paths. There are well marked trails for evacuation from the Gornjak Via Ferrata, except from the trail by the ferrata sections of IV and XII. Estimated time for Gornjak Via Ferrata is some 3 hours for a small group of up to 20 participants. This challenging activity is operated in constant conduct and attention of experienced ferrats while participants’ steps on the rock ladders are secured with a steel rope-belt. Return from the Gornjak Via Ferrata is possible along very steep marked trail direction 4 Pipes fountain /Cesma 4 Lule/ which is reachable in an hour of hike, or along the mountain ridge to the Mali Vukan Mountain that is some 1,5 hours of hike, and further along the marked trail to the 4 lule cesma – 4 Pipes Fountain which needs one more hour of hike. Important: Via Ferrata is completely safe activity designed for all who love to climb, without any previous experience and with proper physical condition – ability to walk at least 30 minutes or climb the tall building without efforts… Ferrata is NOT recommended for young participants – under 18 years of age, weight over 120 kg and those afraid of height.
Tasty outdoor lunch – grilled trout in the rustic restaurant right on the banks of the Mlava River which created the Gornjak Gorge through the Homolje Mountains. After short rest hike through secret and deserted tunnels constructed by the Germans in the Second World War, and tour of the Gornjak Monastery – extraordinary holy place of prayers and spirituality. Return to the accommodation in Zdrelo village, big traditional dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Zdrelo Banja Spa pools – Smederevo fortress Knights’ performance/competition – Belgrade/Novi Sad
After breakfast free time for swimming in the thermal pools of the Aqua Park – the Zdrelo Banja Spa. Departure from Zdrelo village accommodation, drive to the impressive Smederevo Fortress, welcome by costumed historians – ‘knights and princesses’ for the rich historical lecture on Medieval Serbia, customs and lifestyle, followed with Knights performance and interactive workshop – Fencing, Archery, Cyrillic Calligraphy course or Jewellry and Mosaic manufacture…. Lunch, and drive back to Belgrade/Novi Sad, late afternoon arrival, end of program and services
