Stara Planina Hotel is newly built 4 stars facility on Stara Planina Mountain, in southeast Serbia, which represents the first „all seasons resort” in the Balkans.
The Stara Planina Hotel is located on the Jabucko ravniste point, one of the most beautiful parts of Stara Planina Mountain in Serbia, at the altitude of 1350 meters.
The Stara Planina Hotel is surrounded with breathtaking ranges of Babin zub peak from where starts ascent toward Midzor peak, 2169 meters, as well as wonderful beech and pine forests, meadows, pastures and slopes of gorgeous Stara Planina Mountain, after which it is named.
The central range of Stara Planina Mountain is 550 km long and spreads from Zajecar /Serbia/ to Black Sea /Bulgaria/, making a natural border /or bond/ between Serbia and Bulgaria.
The western side of the Stara Planina Mountain massif features precipitous cliffs, among which is 200 meters high Babin Zub peak, which is true challenge for mountaineers and climbers.
Stara planina Mountain is almost five months covered with snow, featuring peaks and slopes between its 1100 and 1900 meters altitude, providing excellent conditions for ski and winter sports.
The Babin zub peak is surrounded with tiny and picturesque villages of Stara Planina Mountain – Ravno Bucje, Aldina Reka, Janja, Mezdreja, Crni Vrh, Custica, Balta Berilovac, Stanjinac, Sugrin, Mirkovci, Zaskovci, Topli Do which preserve and cherish traditional architecture, original way of life and customs of southeast Serbia.
Stara Planina Mountain is protected area of exceptional importance and I Category Natural Reserve on the surface of 114000 hectares.

The Serbian part of Stara Planina has at least 1742 growing plant species (including 41 indigenous orchids), of which 160 (9.2%) are locally or regionally endemic.
Stara Planina is one of the richest plant areas of Serbia, with about 1,190 plant and 51 moss species, equivalent to 34% of the nationally identified plant species.
The main vegetation formations are forests, shrub vegetation, grasslands (cutting meadows and grazing pastures) and bog plant associations. Endemics are the most threatened category and also the most important floristic element of the biodiversity of Stara Planina Mountain.
224 bird species are found on Stara Planina Mountain. In forests and on lush pastures of Stara Planina live foxes, wolves, roe-deers, eagles and semi-wild horses.
Ancient forests of Stara Planina are home to large carnivores such as wolves and brown bears. Stara Planina Mountain is very rich in waters, mountain streams, river canyons, colossal rocks and waterfalls.
The area of Stara Planina has a typical sub – Alpine climate with a considerable number of sunny days, heavy snowfall… On Stara Planina Mountain you can find snow about 120 days per year.

One of the hiking route includes transfer to the “Babin Zub” Mountain hut, from where visitors hike for 8 km through the intact nature of unreal beauty to the Topli Do village and further for next 6 km to the wonderful waterfall. In the village of Topli we make a break for visit to the local producer of the famous cheese of Stara planina, as here was in the past the first and the only one milk school of Serbia !
