Bobija Mountain

Bobija Mountain

Bobija Mountain lies 140 km west of Belgrade, near Valjevo, between the right banks of the Drina River and ranges of the Sokolske planine Mountains, Jablanik and Medvednik Mountains and the Trešnjica River Canyon. Bobija Mountain is famous for its picturesque scenery and numerous high peaks among the Valjevo mountains chain /Medvednik, Jablanik and Povlen Mountains/. The highest peak of the Bobija Mountain is Tornička Bobija (1272 meters) from where spreads magic panorama.

Bobija Mountain is rich in pine and beech forests, cold springs, waterfalls, observation points and highlights, most known is the Dobra voda spring and provide various options of the outdoor activities. There are beautiful tranquil villages surrounded with pastures and meadows. Local population of the Bobija Mountain area is mainly engaged for generations in the live stock breeding and fruit growing. The raspberry production is thus the most lucrative business of the villages in Bobija Mountain. Spectacular inaccessible canyons of the mountainous rivers of Tribuča, Trešnjica, Ljubovija and Sušica attract many outdoor adventurers and nature explorers. The wild and almost inaccessible Tresnjica River Canyon is, beside the Uvac Special Nature Reserve, the only natural habitat of the griffin vultures in Serbia.
