„Brestovi i vizija” Traditional Settlement is located 85 km south of Belgrade, in the upper part of town of Arandjelovac, on beautiful wooded Bukulja Mountain slopes, at the altitude of about 350 meters, above the wonderful Bukovicka Banja Spa park, that covers 21,5 ha containing permanent exhibition of marble sculptures from the International artistic Colony of “Mermer i zvuci” /Marble and Sounds, nominated for the UNESCO heritage/. The owner – MR Milivoje Tomić named this charming place for retreat and invigoration within the serene ambiance, providing delights of natural beauties and preserved traditions, after archaic “Brestovi” cafe run in good old past times by his grandfather – well known Mika – Copa in the village of Donja Šatornja, at the foot of Rudnik Mountain. Traditional Settlement of “Brestovi i Vizija” in Aranđelovac includes luxuriously traditionally appointed tourist apartments situated in three authentic wooden chalets of Sumadija style, that are more than 200 years old and built of massive wooden beams, genuinely restored and turned into six units with bathrooms, that make total accommodation capacity of 12 beds /with extra 5 beds upon requirements/, uniquely pleasant old-fashion cafe – traditional restaurant with the fire place and vast grassy yard, surrounded with fragrant meadows, from where wonderful view spreads towards Sumadija region, from Vencac Mountain, through Topola and Oplenac, to Kosmaj and Homolje Mountains…
Archaic rustic wooden chalets of the Brestovi and Vizija settlement have been specially restored to provide comfortable accommodation of visitors, of which one contains the house of Karadjordje’s /leader of the First Serbian uprising against Turkish rule/ horseman from village of Junakovac near Topola. The wooden chalets are traditionally furnished with hand-woven rugs and wooden beds covered with colorful rugs and embroidered linen, with floors featuring smells of cleanness of the old Šumadija, and gas heating make warmth and natural ambiance that provide pleasant and invigorating stay. Only outstandingly savory Serbian specialties that stay in long memory of every visitor are served in the restaurant of this notable settlement : kaymak, shepherd cheese, smoked ham and beef, smoked beef sausage, kacamak /hominy/, various seasonal fresh salads, grilled and peeled paprika with garlic, pickled salads, cabbage casserole, lamb and beef baked under the ceramic pots…
