Day 1 Arrival Belgrade

Arrival to Belgrade Airport, welcome by professional guide, transfer to 4 stars Belgrade hotel for check-in. Welcome dinner, overnight.

Day 2 Belgrade city tour

After breakfast HD Belgrade sightseeing – the Parliament, the National Theater, Saint Sava Orthodox Cathedral /second largest Orthodox church in the world/, Kalemegdan Fortress from where spreads magic panorama of the Belgrade rivers, Republic Square with the monument to Prince Mihajlo…. Overnight in Belgrade hotel.

Day 3 Belgrade – Lepenski Vir archaeological site – Kladovo

After breakfast drive along the highway and further through the Djerdap National Park along the most beautiful part of the Danube River course. Break for visit to the Lepenski Vir Archaeological site. Traditional lunch – East Serbia food. Boat ride /if weather conditions are suitable/ along the Danube River through the Iron Gate Gorge – the most beautiful part of the Danube River course. Accommodation and dinner in 4 stars Danube Aqua Star Hotel in Kladovo.

Day 4 Kladovo – Sarmizegetusa – Hunedoara

After breakfast, crossing the border to Romania. Drive to Sarmizegetusa site, passing by one of the most beautiful scenery of Romania. Visit to the impressive Sarmizegetusa Regia, the second Dacian capital as historians say – the biggest settlement known in Dacia. Sarmizegetusa Regia became the capital of the Dacian kingdom in the second half of the 1st century BC. For the next 150 years, Sarmizegetusa Regia acted as a political, religious, military and economic centre of Dacia. This visit is occasion to uncover the story which is the basis of the Romanian civilisation. Dinner and overnight in 4 stars Astoria Hotel Hunedoara in Hateg county – one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Romania.

 Day 5 Hunedoara – Sibiu – Brasov

After breakfast drive to Sibiu, walking tour of the medieval core – the Main Square, the Evangelical Church, the Liars’ Bridge…. once one of the easternmost cities of the glittering Hapsburg Empire. Free time for lunch. Drive to Brasov. Fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains and resplendent with Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture, and a wealth of historical attractions, Brasov is one of the most visited places in Romania. Walking tour in Brasov – tour of the Black Church, the largest Gothic church between Vienna and Istanbul. Dinner and overnight in 4 stars Cubix Brasov hotel.

Day 6 Brasov – Bran Castle – Sinaia – Bucharest

Drive to Bran to visit the famous medieval castle built as a fortress – The “Dracula’s” Castle – for the citizens of Brasov with view to defense the city. Prince Vlad used the Castle as a general headquarters during his incursions in Transylvania. For many years it has been an interesting medieval art museum. Surrounded by an aura of mystery and legend and perched high atop a 200-foot-high rock, Bran Castle was built on the site of a Teutonic Knights stronghold dating from 1212 and it was first documented in an act issued by Louis I of Hungary on November 19, 1377, giving the Saxons of Kronstadt (Brasov) the privilege to build the Citadel. Transfer to Sinaia, named the “Pearl of the Carpathians”. Visit to the summer residence of the first royal couple, King Carol I and Queen Elisabeth, Peles Castle, one of the most beautiful palaces in Europe. Arrival in Bucharest. Dinner and overnight in 4 stars Capitol Hotel in Bucharest.

Day 7 Bucharest and its treasures

After breakfast, start discovering the Romanian capital with a sightseeing tour in the city that was once called ,,little Paris of the East’’. Visit the Parliament Palace, former house of Ceaușescu (built between 1984 and 1989) and the 2nd largest building in the world after the Pentagon: 270 meters by 240, 86 meters high, 1100 pieces and 12 floors. Discover unique places and people by passing by Victory Avenue, Romanian Athenaeum, and the National Military Club. You will get a real feeling of the city’s history and culture in the walking tour of the Historical Centre. Lipscani Street has a charming vibe that’s been kept throughout the ages, the small shops that once belonged to Jewish merchants and craftsmen have been replaced today with local shops and lovely cafes and pubs. Visit to the Village Museum, one of the largest open air museums in Europe. Farewell dinner in local restaurant /3 course menu + water included/. Overnight in Capitol Hotel Bucharest.

Day 8 Departure

After breakfast free time until transfer to Bucharest Airport for departure flight back home. End of program.
