More than 150 years ago, the slopes of Venčaci, Orašac and Vrbica hills were covered with vineyards. According to the records from 1859, Vrbica had 84 hectares under vineyards. Fifty years later the famous Venčac wine-growing cooperative was founded, as the unique wine-producers organization in the Balkans, that had been producing sparkling wines between two world wars. These were very good times for grape growers and winemakers in Vrbica village. Even Eleanor Roosevelt visited the cellars and tried the famous wine of the region at the time. Unfortunately, these prosperous times of Vrbica ended and decades of decay began, when Vrbica fell into oblivion. In 2003 on the same slopes new vineyards sprung up, and Vrbica Winery continued its long tradition of grape growing and wine making. Today winery Vrbica possesses a dozen hectares of vineyards and the production of fifty thousand liters of wine. High quality wine varieties of white and red grape came originally from France. Representatives of red grape varieties grown in the vineyards of the Vrbica Winery are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, while the white grape varieties are Riesling Rhine, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

The nicely appointed authentic Shumadija architecture is successfully combined with lots of modern elements and resulted in the Tarpoš Restaurant.
