According to data of BAAT (Bulgarian Association for Alternative Tourism), nearly three hundred and forty thousand Bulgarians and 220 thousand foreigners have chosen rural tourism in Bulgaria in 2007.
The total income from rural tourism is 65 million Euro for 2007 and turnover from alternative tourism - 130 million leva. The advantages of Bulgaria in rural tourism are determined by : the clean nature, the varied landscape, the availability of numerous natural and other places of interest, the unique culture, hospitable population motivated to offer tourist services.
