Being the part of the large estate which covers nearly 150 hectares, the Traditional Farm House of the Kuća Čolovića reminds of the true “hacienda” and makes the perfect combination of the Serbian tradition and the modern lifestyle… The authentic historical complex of the old Serbian homestead which is nowadays turned into a summer residence of the Ćurčić Family spreads along three circular courtyards and contains vast row of authentic structures, wooden logs, dairy houses, barns, granary, bakery, beehives shelves that are carefully preserved and kept in their original appearance and form the unique cultural monument that best represents the life style of a reputed and diligent Serbian family. The grand father Milisav of the prominent Colovic family started to extend the family estate and wealth by export of large quantities of dried plums, plum jam and rakia to Budapest at the end of the 19th century. The Old House distinguishes itself most of the unique traditional setting of the Čolovića House complex. It is the semi-wooden cottage built at the beginning of the 19th century, and contains one of the oldest and most authentic fireplaces in Serbia, along which the whole complex gained the status of the museum – the monument of culture, under the state protection. Among the exhibited items there are photos of the grand-grand father of the Čolović brothers from 1865, work of the famous Anastas Jovanović, whose copy is kept at the Archive of the National Museum in Belgrade and is regarded as one of the oldest portraits preserved until the present. There is here also the monumental oil painting of the “Srpska gernika” (Serbian Guernica, 240×180) painted by Jose Vasconcellos (who lives and works in Denmark now) and dedicated his artwork to Serbia and the Čolović Family.
