Mangalem Hotel Berat is situated in a large old stone structure which used to be the Palatial house of the mighty Ahmet Kurt Pasha, the founder and ruler of Berat Pashalik /district/ in the 18th century, during the Ottoman reign. Nowadays this outstanding authentic structure comprises the small traditional restaurant and bar, and spacious pleasant open terrace and a lovely and impressive cobble-stone courtyard with garden, that was bordered by another Oriental building which is part of the Mangalem Hotel as well, situated along the old cobble-stone walk climbing up to the impressive Berat Kalaja Citadel. Mangalem Hotel Berat has been honored with the Silver Award and Essential Albanian Architecture,from the Authentic Albania Quality Mark Program. All of the rooms of Mangalem Hotel are newly remodelled, very comfortable and fairly spacious with very nice, handmade furniture in them, featuring airconditioning-heating with individual control, cable LCD TV, fridge, phone, WiFi Internet, thick darkening drapes or blinds, hair-dryer, and fire detector.
