Danube /Donau/ River

The Danube is the most important river in Europe. With its 2.857 kilometers from the well in Schwarzwald to the delta in the Black Sea it is the second largest river of the continent, ranked by its lenght as 33rd in the world. The Danube flow of 2.488 kilometers are navigable and connect 10 neighbour countries. It consists of three parts : the upper – Alpine part, the middle – Pannonian part and the down Danube basin – the Vlach Danube. The landscape and nature along the Danube flow in Serbia change from flat land to hills and wild canyons, creating the most magnificent part of the huge river. Forests, fields and river water-fronts are living space for diversified animals and plants.
For visitors, the Danube-area offers a large amount of opportunities to experience an extensive Nature and Culture closely. The origin of the first European civilisations were here 7000 years ago and as their followers, many different cultures left behind their traces of uncomparable historical values still offering a quick glance into the past.
Drina River

In West Serbia, only 210km from Belgrade, there is a paradise on unspoiled nature, mountain peaks and lush forests of the middle flow of river Drina – one of most beautiful rivers in Europe. Mountainous, abundant, green, rapid, wavy river rolling and roaring through the wonderful mountainous landscape, gorges, canyons, forests, dizzying clean air. Wild eagles, pigeons, deer, rabbits, wolves, bears - they all go to drink from the Drina river. Flowing through breathtaking canyons of the G.Tresnjica, the Drina is flanked with mountain peaks standing over 1000m high! This river attracts adventure lovers with its extreme sports facilities (“adrenaline festivals”).
Tara River

As a part of National Park Durmitor, river Tara impresses with its beauty. River Tara is crystal clear, turquoise blue with source on west side of Mt. Komovi in Montenegro. With short but numerous confluents created water flow length of 149 km and the deepest and most beautiful canyon in Europe and rated second in the World. Some 30 km of Tara river flow is a natural border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro. River flow end in Scepan Polje, confluenting with Piva river creating river Drina.
Lim River

Picturesque Lim river starts in socle of Prokletije mountain as shunt of wonderful Pivsko Lake of 999 altitude. Flows through towns Andrijevica, Berane, Bjelo Polje, Prijepolje, Priboj, Rudo and Medvedja where in valley of 299 attitude it finishes as affluent of Drina river. Root-name of Lim is latin word „limes“ (borders), because of its' role through history as a border of Eastern and Western Roman Empire and also Otoman and Austrohungarian Empire. Deeper history base-word is from celtish language llyn, llym, that means drink, water, lake... Jerma River

The most beautiful canyon in Serbia, the River Jerma Canyon intersects the zone of Vlach Mountains located in country’s southeast part. The Jerma River spring is close to the Vlasina Lake, but the river flows towards Bulgaria in Strezimirovce, passing through the Trnovsko zdrelo gorge while creating the most magnificent canyon between the Vlach and Greben peaks. The best part of canyon covers few kilometers between the cliff by Asenovo kale and the village Vlasi, being the only settlement for grey eagles, dominating from the highlights above 1.032 m.
Ibar River

Ibar starts on northern part of Hajla mountain (2400m) in Montenegro. Ibar River make a beautiful valley and passes through municipalities of Raška and Kraljevo creating 65km long Ibar Gorge ending in Zapadna Morava river. Ibar River has lots of rapids, slews and cacades. Several mountainous rivers are tributaries of Ibar River – Studenica, Dubočica, Lopatnica i Pivnica. Ibar River is very convenient for fishing rafting and kayaking.
Sušica River /Montenegro/

River Susica is the part of Durmitor National Park. Magic Susica River canyon is some 14km long and contributes to the beauty of Durmitor. After few kilometers of its flow the magnificant Susica lake is formed with deepest point of some 4,5m. The rich flora containing over 1500 species derived from the far geologic past has been preserved. The fauna is also rich : there are over 130 kinds of birds amongst them eagles are distinguished and specialy interesting. Bears and wolves are also typical for this region. Most part of the crystal Susica river is hard to access and thus very attractive for extreme adventurers.
Morava River

North Morava river is located in Northern Serbia, total length of 246 kilometers. The Velika (Great) Morava is created by the confluence of the Južna Morava (Southern Morava ) and the Zapadna Morava (Western Morava) passing through the small town of Stalać, a major railway junction in central Serbia. From there to its confluence with the Danube northeast of the town of Smederevo, the Velika Morava is 185 km long. With its longer branch,the Zapadna Morava, it is 493 km long. Navigating Morava one can see the last remained ferries on Morava, old watermills, medieval monasteries and some historical places.
Nišava River - Sicevo gorge

Nisava is the longest and the biggest confluent of North Morava. River source is in Bulgaria. In Serbia Nišava flows in length of 151 km, through Dimitrovgrad, Pirot, Bela Palanka and Niš basins. Nišava River created even 17 km long Sićevo canyon which represents unique natural reservation. The old and important roads such Via Militaris - the ancient Roman road and later the Turkish road used to pass through this canyon.
Piva Lake /Montenegro/

Building a hydroelectric power plant Piva in Municipality Pluzine ( in north-west Montenegro), actually by rising a concrete arch water-gate ( 220 m. ) emerged Piva Lake. 18 km long with emerald green water. Lake is navigable by boat, excellent for fishing and water sports. Huge canyons of Piva and Tara are ideal for adventure holidays.

Whether you choose the winter or the summer season for visiting Durmitor, you will experience a unique mountain view. The National Park “Durmitor” spreads across

39000 ha, and its area of 20000 ha has been included in the UNESCO since 1980. Zabljak, the city with the greatest height above the sea level in the Balkans, 1456 m, is situated here. It is surrounded by 23 mountain peaks over 2300m high.
There are 17 glacier lakes called “mountain eyes” in the area of Durmitor. The most famous is Black Lake, covered with ice and crystals of frozen snowflakes in the winter. You can swim in it in the middle of the summer. Between the steep hillsides or hidden in the green, thick foliage, are the magic beauties: Zmijinje, Barno, Riblje, Vrazje, Modro and the other lakes. "Bobotov kuk", the highest peak 2523 m, dominates over all of Montenegro.
Silver Lake

Famous touristic place near town of Veliko Gradiste, 115 km from Belgrade, excellent for vacations, recreation, water sports, hunting and fishing. The lake is 14 km long and 300 m wide. Silver lake is rich with fish, so attract those who enjoy fishing and fish specialties. During stay visitors are invited to explore Lepenski Vir, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world, dating from the 6700 – 4500 BC.
Borsko Jezero - Bor Lake

The Borsko Lake lies at the foothill of the Crni Vrh Mountain /The Black Peak Mt./ 17 km far from the town of Bor. It was founded in 1959. by the building of the water-gate on the flows of Valja Dzoni, Marec and the part of Zlot rivers. The lake covers the surface of 30 ha with its deepest point exceeding 50 m. The water temperature during summer is up to 25 degrees C. The lake shores are covered by thick forests and pine woods, flowery meadows and beautiful greenery at the altitude of 483 m. The climate is mild-continental.
Uvac River

River Uvac flows between the northern cliffs of Zlatar and the southern cliffs of Zlatibor mountain chains, about 250km from Belgrade. The cliffs around the Uvac lake are a natural habitat for whitehead vulture (Griffin Vultures), about 250 specimen of these rare birds live in this wild area as its symbols, protected by the law. Many other bird species live on the breathtaking shores of the Uvac lake. A part of the Uvac crag is the official natural reservation.
Vlasina Lake
Vlasina lake is located in the southeast of Serbia, in the municipality of Surdulica, some 27 km from the Highway connecting Belgrade and Macedonia exiting by the town of Vladicin Han. It is close to the Serbian-Bulgarian border on the south.

Situated on the altitude of 1213 m it spreads on 16 km2 and is the biggest and the highest artificial lake in Serbia. On the place where in the past was mud with reeds and scattered water spots from where the Vlasina river was taking its downfall, by construction of water-dams Vrla I and II became Vlasina lake. The lake with its water color varying from grey-blue near the coast to dark blue in the middle of the lake together with the green banks gives special coloring to the landscape. The lake is surrounded with waved plateau as a green carpet with meadows, pastures and forests which hide the diversity of herbal and animal world, and with the mountain range with clear wells, small rivers with ravines. Cemernik and Vardenik are the biggest mountains around. The area of Vlasina lake is characterized with significant cultural monuments and ethographic values, such as : monastery in Palja, the church in Bozica, Etno-farm “The Eight Day” Izvor, Klisura, Crna Trava and the tower in Klisura.
Palic Lake

The Palic lake is artificial lake located some 8 km from Subotica at the altitude of 102m. The lake is wide from 350 to 96o m and long more than 8 km with the average deepness between 1,5 and 2 m. The visitors are invited to enjoy in tennis, sports, athletic paths, open-air and covered swimming pools with thermal waters. The beautiful beach is built on the shore of the Palic lake. There is one of the most beautiful Serbian parks and the zoo in Palić.
